Returnal studio Housemarque’s new shooter, Saros, which stars Rahul Kohli, has been delayed by around a month.
The upcoming shooter will now launch exclusively on PS5 on April 30, 2026, but you can get earlier access by 48 hours if you pick up the Digital Deluxe Edition.
You can play Saros earlier, but it’s still delayed
A new trailer showcases more of the game’s story and Kohli’s performance, and it still looks a lot like Returnal – but that’s no bad thing.
“Saros is the ultimate evolution of the Housemarque gameplay-first experience,” Creative Director Gregory Louden told the PlayStation Blog.
“In our trailer at The Game Awards we focus on our mysterious and monstrous story and show how we are taking things to the next level. This is our biggest and most ambitious story yet at Housemarque.”
Jane Perry is back from Returnal to play Sheridan Bouchard, Ben Prendergast (from God of War: Ragnarok) is in, too, and Adriyan Raye from South of Midnight also appears.
On the subject of Housemarque’s style of “bullet ballet”, Louden said “We hope you loved a sneak peak at Prophet and some action gameplay against Carcosan flora and fauna. As Arjun you will have to overcome a variety of hostile creatures and uncover their dark secrets by the end of our cinematic journey.”
“We also showed off a new ability, Parry, where, with perfect timing of R1, you can reflect certain projectiles back at enemies, destroying or staggering them. It feels awesome to use and it’s another way we are taking our action to the next level.”
The Digital Deluxe Edition includes 48 hours of early access to Saros, along with four armor sets and a digital version of the game. The game will be PlayStation 5 Pro enhanced, as if there was any doubt.
