Nintendo announced that they have surpassed 2 million unique players going online with the Nintendo DS.
After the popularity of games like Metroid Prime: Hunters and Mario Kart DS, Nintendo has revealed that there have been over 70 million individual game sessions played online since the Wi-Fi service went live nine months ago. With so many players going online with their portables, Nintendo of America’s senior VP George Harrison is optimistic for the future. “Our hand-held leadership will continue unabated with today’s launch of Star Fox Command and the anticipation of our upcoming Wi-Fi titles,” he said.
The new Star Fox Command DS game launches today and supports online play with up to four players. It retails for $34.99 US.
