Oddworld Inhabitants Announce First Film and New Game

Oddworld Inhabitants disclosed their first full length film and an accompanying game.

Oddworld Inhabitants, developers of Abe’s Odyssey and Munch’s Odyssey, announced their first feature film entitled Citizen Siege at the GameCity event in Nottingham, England. Lorne Lanning, company co-founder, is directing the film alongisde Executive Producer and co-founder Sherry McKenna. Shrek developer John Williams and his studio Vanguard Animation are helping to produce the “politically edgy sci-fi action thriller”.

Sherry McKenna added praise for her partners at Vanguard Animation: “We’re thrilled to be in partnership with John Williams and the wonderful folks at Vanguard to birth our latest universe. Their expertise, experience, and passionate vision for where the animated film market is headed enables Citizen Siege the support necessary to deliver the next generation of animated experience that mature audiences are ready for. “

During the address, producer John Williams explained: “Abe’s Odyssey was a genre busting original game and was the first one I fell in love with. Citizen Siege promises to be an action thriller that, like other great science fiction stories, also has incredible poignancy to the universal issues of our time. Lorne and Sherry are highly revered as founding masters of CG animation and we think Citizen Siege is perfectly suited to be a break out action adventure.”

Using the same art resources, the game is being built alongside the movie and is targeted for a simultaneous launch with the movie. No publisher has been signed to release the title.
