Official Skyrim Soundtrack is a Nord-Sized Beast

Bethesda unveils an epic four-disc Skyrim soundtrack, plus a sexy new wallpaper to look at while you wait.

For the discriminating gamer who just can’t get enough Elder Scrolls, I present to you the official Skyrim soundtrack. This huge compilation of music is a four-disc CD set in a Nord-themed foldout case that will begin shipping the week after The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is released. As an added bonus, anyone who orders prior to December 23 will have their copy personally autographed by composer Jeremy Soule. If you’re any kind of videogame music fan you should already be familiar with Soule but for those who aren’t, he did the music for the previous two Elder Scrolls games, Oblivion and Morrowind, and a whole pile of others. In other words, he knows his stuff.

The Skyrim soundtrack can be preordered now from DirectSong for $29.99 plus shipping. No word on whether a cheaper digital release will be made available, although it’s probably a good bet, but if you’re a serious fan this is the one you want anyway. Come on, you know you want it.

Speaking of things you want, a sexy new Skyrim wallpaper is up for grabs at elderscrolls.com, featuring the mighty Dovakiin [and his silly hat] gazing out over the vast expanse of the rugged Nord homeland. That’s a pretty sweet view right there.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim comes out on November 11 for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
