Netflix has released the trailer for its upcoming film, Pee-wee’s Big Holiday, starring Paul Reubens and produced by Judd Apatow.
Netflix, Judd Apatow, and Paul Reubens have teamed up to resuscitate Pee-wee Herman, the character Reubens created in 1980. Pee-wee is set to star in Pee-wee’s Big Holiday, produced by Apatow and coming to the online streaming service on March 18th.
That’s all well and good. Pee-wee’s Big Adventure was and still is an incredibly silly movie, and there is something strangely appealing about the chalk-skinned man-child.
The real story, though, is that Reubens is 63 years old and looks fantastic. The man is some kind of immortal being, unaffected by the erosive passage of time. He watches over us, and bears uncaring witness to our fleeting mortal lives. Just look at him!
Praise Pee-wee.
