The guys at Penny Arcade have announced that pre-registration for this year’s Penny Arcade Expo is now available.
The fifth annual PAX will be held from August 29-31 at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center in Seattle, Washington. “Early bird” pre-registration, available until March 31, will allow gamers to purchase a three-day pass for $40, a 20 percent discount off the standard rate. Fans who pre-register will also be eligible to compete for prizes in the Omegathon gaming competition.
First launched in 2004, PAX attendance has roughly doubled each year, from around 4500 attendees at the inaugural event to 37,000 in 2007. Last year’s event featured concerts, industry panels, demonstrations, a keynote address by Wil Wheaton and much more. “We’re super excited,” said Robert Khoo, Director of Business Development at Penny Arcade. “We throw what’s essentially this giant party every year, and we feel incredibly grateful that the community has really embraced the show. With the content we’re already planning for 2008, we think it’s going to be the best year ever.”
Details about exhibitors and events for the 2008 edition of the Penny Arcade Expo will be released in February; in the meantime, gamers who want to be at the head of the line for the biggest gaming show in the U.S. can do so now at the official PAX website.
