Praey for the Gods PS5 Gameplay Shows Towering, Shadow of the Colossus-like Boss Battle

Praey for the Gods, a single-player third-person adventure game that takes after Shadow of the Colossus‘s boss battles, just got a few minutes of PlayStation 5 gameplay. IGN has shared nearly four minutes of footage today, showcasing one of No Matter Studios’ intimidating and lumbering enemies. See how players can engage in epic battles in the footage below.

Like the game from which No Matter Studios draws its inspiration, Praey for the Gods sees players climbing on giant beasts in an attempt to bring them down. Unlike Shadow of the Colossus, however, the game is set in a frozen landscape where players must uncover the mystery behind a winter that never ends. You’ll also be crafting fires and equipment while hunting for food, as surviving in the harsh wilderness is a key part of the gameplay loop.

No Matter Studios consists of three individuals: Brian Parnell, Tim Wiese, and Hung-Chien Liao. The trio started working on their first game in 2014 but didn’t leave their previous game studio jobs to begin work together until January 2016.

Praey for the Gods came to Steam Early Access at the beginning of 2019. The game officially launches for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox One in Q1 2021.
