Great Peril, a Final Fantasy RP

Host: Lambi

This is the story of seven warriors: a Warrior, a Black Mage, a White Mage, a Mystic Knight, a Paladin, a Summoner and a Gunner, chosen to guard a piece of the secret to unlocking a great evil that had nearly destroyed the world. From generation to generation, the secret has been passed down from parent to child, until all seven pieces were stolen within a short amount of time.

The seven warriors must head towards Torania, a small town that only stands out for its poor success. As the warriors travel, their luck is mismatched. Some get to Torania unharmed and with little or no encounters of the many monsters that dwell in the forest around Torania, others have battled many of the monsters and escaped becoming their meals. All seven warriors have an emblem that helps them seek out the other six, because when near another emblem, it will give a glow, stronger the closer it is to another emblem.

Once at the inn, the warriors begin to assemble slowly. Five have already arrived at the inn: Mystic Knight, Warrior, Paladin, Black Mage and Summoner, while the other two, White Mage and Gunner, are still on their way. Laxus, the one from the Warrior family, gives Alex, the one from the Black Mage family, a rough explanation of why they must gather. For now, the other five wait for the White Mage and the Gunner to arrive so that a full explanation can be given.

The Apartments

Host: Smagmuck_ and Rainboq

The story centers around an apartment complex in a small town in Ohio. The occupants go about their daily lives, or at least attempt to. The drama is a constant roller-coaster. Relationships have popped up. Two wars have been fought, and two stalkers have been hanging around. This RP has inspired a web-comic in the works by our own Rainboq and others.

A New World, With New Conflicts

Host: Alpha Centauri

A new world has begun, with new conflicts. It started peacefully, with the nations making military pacts and trade allegiances. The first major crisis was in Volaria, which suffered a massive drought. It was great to see the players ban together and help Volaria; deals were going down.

But alas, this peace could not live on forever; a couple of nations were inactive, and even when you are inactive, your country still goes on. When a leader denied trade unionists the right to safer working conditions, rebels thought it would be a good time to strike.

Much focus has been on the New Sans Morcos Rebellion, but there has been some other things going on. After the rebellion, one nation drafted a full constitution and switched its government style to a democracy, while another one held an election.

Currently, New Sans Morcos has nearly been overtaken by the rebels, Volaria is redoing its water system; Foinix just finished an election; Caeladon just drafted its constitution and Astricore is rousing the anger of its people.

Of course, there are always things that go on behind the works – that’s a whole different part of a game: secret pacts, devious plots; it’s all part of the game. The main thing to know is: “Keep your people happy and they’ll keep you in power.”

Civil War – A BioShock RP

Host: SteakHeart

In the year 1959, a Civil War broke out in the underwater city of Rapture. Many people were trapped inside, some of whom were braver than others. The story starts off with a Big Daddy named Candle fighting off a group of Splicers- people driven insane by the use of a super-power-giving chemical called ADAM. In the meantime, several people were roaming Rapture. Candle and another Big Daddy named Lambda find their way to a Carnival in Rapture. More Splicers attack, and they fight them off while the human characters (named Jason, Zenith, Bird, and Nathan) watch from the background.

Candle and Lambda succeed, and they wander off while Bird jumps off of the Ferris Wheel he was hiding on and sprains his ankle. Zenith helps Bird with his ankle, while Nathan tries to fix up Rapture. A man named Tommy then shows up, and he also sets off to Ryan Amusements while yet another man wakes up with a Splicer trying to break in.

The second man, Vasili, meets up with the Big Daddies and joins them, eventually finding a message about Rapture’s future. They head to Pauper’s Drop, get another message, and set off to Fontaine Futuristics.

The rest of the cast ends up following the Big Daddies as well. When they arrive, they are greeted by a man sending Splicers after them, but a different man, who reveals himself as a businessman named Atlas, fights the Splicers off with a few Security Drones. Atlas directs them upstairs, where they disarm some mines and are now safe.

A Virgin World

Host: avouleance2nd

The idea of this RP is to create a new mythology with new stories creatures and deities starting with a creation myth I supplied. I wanted a more social world, where players could actually affect the political and social system instead of just doing what I tell them; a more player driven world. Similarly, the magic system was a more free version of the system from eternal darkness, instead of spells, there is the “tongue of the land,” the language the gods spoke. By learning words of this language, players can command the world as they choose.

Masquerade: An Episodic Anime-Style RP

Host: StarStruckStrumpets

Following events that have been long since forgotten, The Master’s University was established in Tokyo, Japan. Dark rumors surrounding an organization known as “Masquerade” were casually exchanged and quickly forgotten, until they resurfaced. Briefly mentored by an individual known as Mr. Knox (a man who later revealed he was a member of this enigmatic group), a small group of students have found themselves wrapped around the vengeful and manipulative finger of Jack, a traitor of Masquerade. Under his very influence, the students were pressurized into murdering Mr. Knox before they became subject to Masquerade’s intentions.

Now, whilst being guided by Jack, the group of students are desperately hunting down the answers and abilities they need to save themselves from whatever Masquerade and its leader, who goes under the name of Sage, have in store for them. They may not like it, but that is their only option. Jack’s motives are questionable, his morals non-existent, but in a world where there is no good or evil and survival is the only path, knowledge is power – knowledge Jack possesses.

Down Under

Host: maddawg IAJI

The world of the Paranormal has been long since been deemed as fiction. Werewolves, Vampires, Cyclops, Ghosts and of course the ever so terrifying giant squid don’t exist. But has anyone ever actually looked hard enough? Glimpses of creatures that seem to be from another world are sighted every day, but are passed off as fake for lack of proof. If people had seen the things I have seen, they would whistle a different tune. My name is Herman and I have something to tell you. That thing you hear going bump in the night is not the wind. That thing you saw running in the woods wasn’t a Big Cat, but something much worse. And of course, if you don’t believe me, I got a 120 foot octopus swimming around near the docks that would like to prove it to ya.

The story takes place in the early 1930s as the Depression affects the world and it is ever relevant in Sydney, Australia. The story surrounds 14 Paranormal Investigators that are part of a secret world organization called “Paranormal Investigation & Eradication” or PIE for short. This branch of the Organization is tasked with keeping the horrors of the Paranormal away from the public of Australia for their own safety. They are equipped with the most advanced machinery of the time and every member has been gifted with control over an element to help them combat the much stronger creatures of the Paranormal. They readily combat the forces that seek to harm Humanity and will fight those who seek to control the Paranormal for domination of the human race.

Demigods

Host: CounterAttack

It’s a time similar to our own, but with one world-changing difference. The beings commonly called the Greek Gods, believed to have faded into the mists of time millennia ago, are living right under the noses of citizens of the United States. The gods’ influence has spread across the entire country; Mount Olympus, home to the gods, is anchored to the top of the Empire State Building. The gods aren’t the only celestial beings around, however. They have children: half-human, half-god. These special children, called demigods, stay in the one safe haven in the USA, a summer camp known to the inhabitants as Camp Half-Blood.

Demigods train to fight while at camp, for there are numberless terrors that could strike at any time: the Minotaur, Cyclops, and Medusa, to name but three. Without the knowledge of how to combat these monsters, the demigods would be killed as soon as they step into the regular human world.

Recent acts by certain gods have thrown the Olympian Council into disarray; the camp director, the centaur Chiron, believes Hades, Lord of the Dead, has imprisoned another god, Apollo, in the Underworld. The Council, and soon after, the world, will fall into chaos if the situation is not settled.

In times like these, the gods turn to their children for help. They are offered a quest to serve their parents, out in the real world. Sometimes they succeed… other times they are killed in action, and never return.

Two challenges have been set thus far: A team of three has set out to slay the Nemean Lion and bring its pelt to Zeus on Olympus, and five demigods are journeying across the United States to Los Angeles, where they will confront Hades in an attempt to restore order to the Council.
