iconiQ The Soundtrack Orchestra will put on a concert October 10 celebrating themes and background music from the first Sailor Moon anime series.

A group of talented musicians, arrangers, and composers will celebrate the music of the first Sailor Moon TV anime series will be in New York City in time for New York Comic Con. iconiQ The Soundtrack Orchestra’s Sailor Moon Symphony: SeraSymphony Live will be held on Friday, October 10 at 8 pm in the DiMenna Center for Classical Music.

Tickets for the concert are $15 online and $20 at the door. Anyone attending New York Comic Con (October 9-12) can get five dollars off the ticket by presenting their NYCC badge. Students with valid student ID can also get five dollars off the ticket price. However, only one discount is allowed per ticket. Tickets are on sale now until October 10 at 6 pm.

iconiQ is a chamber ensemble that arranges medleys from anime and video games. Artistic Director Bobbie Lee Crow III founded the group in 2011 and has performed with the Ensemble du Monde and Garden State Philharmonic. He is also an arranger and composer. As his favorite soundtrack is Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon, it’s no surprise the group took on the music from one of the most popular magical girl shows.

Crow III promises songs like “Moonlight Legend” and “Sailor Star Song” will be a part of the concert. The performance will be in the form of a traditional five-movement symphony, which rearranges the themes and background music from the five season of the first Sailor Moon anime series. Currently a new Sailor Moon series titled Sailor Moon Crystal is airing two new episodes per month. The new series is a part of the 20th anniversary of Sailor Moon, and iconiQ originally conceived Sailor Moon Symphony: SeraSymphony Live as a part of the 20th anniversary celebration as well.
