Who needs Marvel vs. Capcom 3 when you can have Ken Masters fighting the characters from the mind of the guy who did the 8-bit reimagining of Left 4 Dead?
Okay, I’m going to be honest, here: I never really got into Marvel vs. Capcom 2, but yesterday’s announcement of (and trailer for) MvC3 got my fighting-gamer heart all a-flutter. Morrigan versus Iron Man? Yes, please!
But that wasn’t the only “versus Capcom” trailer that made me want a game I didn’t know I wanted – oh no. Above, you can see the trailer for Capcom vs. Eric Ruth Games, a fan-made brawler pitting the classic Capcom cast vs. the brainchildren of Eric Ruth – you know, the guy who did the Left 4 Dead “De-Make”?
From the Capcom side: Ken Masters, Mega Man, Mike Haggar, Captain Commando, and that one zombie rocker from Darkstalkers whose name I can never remember. From the Eric Ruth Games side, a bunch of people who I don’t know! But that’s okay, because it looks like pure retro fighting fun.
I’m loving the announcer, though. “Ladies and Gentlemen, Start Your Fist Engines?” Pure brilliance.
