The Elder Scrolls: Legends is Bethesda’s Answer to Hearthstone

The Elder Scrolls: Legends is a “strategy card game” set in The Elder Scrolls universe.

Bethesda seems to be echoing fellow publisher Blizzard quite a bit these days. First, it announced its “Bethesda.net” digital platform (Battle.net anyone?), and now, it has revealed what appears to be a direct answer to Blizzard’s wildly popular digital card game: Hearthstone. Dubbed The Elder Scrolls: Legends, the new game is a strategy card game featuring heroes and characters from The Elder Scrolls universe.

You can check out the teaser trailer above, which while not showing off any in-game gameplay, certainly looks very pretty and gives a pretty good idea of how we can expect the card art to look.

Just like Hearthstone, Legends will be completely free to play, and will feature customizable decks of cards that players can collect, presumably both in-game and via microtransactions. It’ll be available for both PC and iPad later this year, with a hint of additional mobile versions coming in the future.
