If you own Titanfall on PC, Xbox One, or Xbox 360, you can pick up all of its map packs absolutely free!

Can you believe it’s been a full year since Titanfall first launched? The folks over at Respawn can’t either, and have written up a nice blog post thanking all of its fans for their support. But, it isn’t thanking them with just words, it’s giving them stuff. To celebrate the one-year anniversary of Titanfall, its Season Pass, AKA all of its downloadable maps, are now completely free for anyone who owns the game.

“All Titanfall map packs are now available for free on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC,” said the developer. “You just have to head to the online store on Origin or Xbox and download the Season Pass.”

“Thanks again to all of you who’ve supported us and we can’t wait to make more games for you in the future. In the meantime, if you haven’t tried the new maps, we hope you love them and happy anniversary, Titanfall,” said Vince Zampella, the CEO of Respawn entertainment.

When the Season Pass was first announced, it cost $25 and included three DLC map packs: Expedition, Frontier’s Edge and IMC Rising.

This can really only be applauded as a great move from Respawn. Paid DLC map packs end up fracturing the community, by separating those who bought them from those who didn’t, and the game’s increasingly barren online scene could really use an injection of new players. It’s a shame the map packs weren’t free from the get-go…
