The Wii Shop Channel will feature two new action-adventure games today, River City Ransom and Phantasy Star. III[/i].
The first title, originally for the Nintendo Entertainment System and supporting up to two players, has the protagonists battling his girlfriend’s kidnapper. The bad guy, in turn, is supported by a host of other evil bosses, thugs and minions to be taken out melee style. Players can go solo or team up with a friend for simultaneous on-screen action.
River City Ransom is rated E10+ and costs 500 Wii Points.
Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom, a single-player Sega Genesis title, also delves into the whole kidnapping theme, as you find your love one whisked away by enemies on your wedding day. In-game choices impact the storyline as you encounter “several generations of characters” as mysteries reveal themselves to you.
The game is rated E and costs 800 Wii Points.
