Celebrate Minecraft on Wii U With This Super Mario Skin Pack

The Super Mario Mash-up Minecraft pack is free to all users of the Wii U version of the game.

Nintendo Minecraft fans have been very patient waiting for the game to come to the Wii U, which it finally did late last year. To reward that patience, Nintendo has teamed up with Mojang to create a very special Super Mario-themed skin and item pack, which will be released in a free update to all users of the game. Check it out in the video to the right.

“After downloading the update, players [who purchased the eShop version of the game] will have immediate access to new skins, a Super Mario-themed pre-made world and a set of Super Mario-themed music and item textures,” wrote Nintendo in a press release. Over 40 skins are included in the pack, including iconic characters like Mario and Luigi, as well as lesser-known members of the Super Mario family like Shy Guy, Dry Bones and the Koopalings.

Additionally, when the pack launches on June 17, it will be alongside a special retail version of the game, which will hit North American shelves at an RRP of $29.99.
