Sony Partners with Netflix to Bring Films to the Streaming Platform

Netflix will be home to several films that fall under Sony’s umbrella thanks to a new partnership between the two companies. While all of Sony’s upcoming movies will debut in theaters, they’ll also then come to Netflix, including Uncharted, Morbius, the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel, and other Marvel films like future live-action Spider-Man and Venom releases.

Scott Stuber, Netflix’s head of global films, said, “Sony Pictures is a great partner and we are thrilled to expand our relationship through this forward-thinking agreement. This not only allows us to bring their impressive slate of beloved film franchises and new IP to Netflix in the US, but it also establishes a new source of first run films for Netflix movie lovers worldwide.”

2K Is Teasing the Next WWE 2K Game, Reveal Planned for WrestleMania

Publisher 2K is teasing something related to WWE 2K, with plans to reveal the new project at WrestleMania 37 this Sunday. It’s highly likely the publisher will show off WWE 2K22 at the event this weekend. The previous installment, WWE 2K20, was poorly received due to its numerous bugs and glitches. These problems were the result of a short development cycle after the project was handed off to Visual Concepts when longtime WWE developer Yuke’s and 2K ended their partnership in 2019.

God of War Creator David Jaffe Says Sony Is Developing a “Counterpunch” to Xbox Game Pass

Microsoft has gotten a lot of praise recently due to the success of Xbox Game Pass, a subscription service that grants users with lots of games for a monthly fee. Sony may be working on something to compete with Game Pass, at least according to David Jaffe, the creator of God of War. During Jaffe’s podcast (as transcribed by VGC) he said, “What I can tell you is I know they are doing some stuff because I know people at Sony who have told me that they are doing some stuff.” Jaffe also referred to Sony’s supposed upcoming service as a “counterpunch” to Game Pass and urges fans not to rule out the company just yet. Some, however, are skeptical of Jaffe’s knowledge of the situation, and he is not directly connected to God of War anymore.
