Yoshi’s New Island Release Date Aims For March

Nintendo locks the release date for their Yoshi’s Island sequel.

Yoshi’s New Island, a sequel to quirky Mario spin-off Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island, will be available for 3DS on March 14, Nintendo announced today. Nintendo had narrowed the game’s release window to “spring 2014” during a Nintendo Direct broadcast in December.

We played Yoshi’s New Island when it was first announced at E3 2013, and thought the game looked promising. With Takashi Tezuka, creative director of the original Yoshi’s Island, at the helm Yoshi’s New Island, fans of Yoshi and baby Mario’s quirky adventure can hope for a faithful modernization of the game’s sensibilities.
