You Got Your Peggle in My LittleBigPlanet2

This article is over 13 years old and may contain outdated information

LittleBigPlanet2 proves again that it can be anything and everything, including other games.

YouTube user Makotoichio has burst forth from the fog of internet anonymity bearing the gift of Peggle, nested carefully inside of LittleBigPlanet2.

For those that don’t know, Peggle is a casual puzzle game created by PopCap, where the goal is to clear away a bunch of pegs by shooting marbles at them. It has been ported to every format available due to its popularity, and is rather well known for doing crossovers with other games. There have been Half-Life 2, Portal, and Team Fortress 2 editions, and PopCap even produced an addon for World of Warcraft to play a Peggle game to find out who gets loot. And now, it’s in LittleBigPlanet2

LittleBigPlanet2 is toolbox of a game. It can be a puzzle platformer, a 4 player beat ’em up, a tower defense game, and probably every other genre there is. A large part of it is focused on player-made content and levels, which can be played via an online market, and has proven to be amazingly versatile. Countless games have been remade using the tools in the first LittleBigPlanet, everything from Contra to Pitfall to indie hit Limbo, and the new tools introduced in the sequel allow for even more impressive remakes. Already we’ve seen remakes of Final Fantasy VII, an operating system, and Geometry Wars, and now we learn that it is versatile enough to create Peggle, in all its bouncy glory.

If you’ve got LittleBigPlanet2, you can queue it up for download on the LittleBigPlanet2 site.
