Liam Neeson Cast In Fallout 3

Bethesda has announced that highly-respected actor Liam Neeson will be providing voice acting talent for its upcoming post-apocalyptic RPG, Fallout 3.

Neeson, known for his roles in such films as Excalibur, Krull and Darkman, has been tapped to play the role of the player’s father. According to a statement, he will feature “prominently throughout the game,” a point made likely as a preemptive response to comparisons to Patrick Stewart’s highly-touted but minimally-appearing voice work in Bethesda’s recent Elder Scrolls RPG, Oblivion.

Todd Howard, Executive Producer on Fallout 3, said, “The role was written with Liam in mind, and provides the dramatic tone for the entire game,” adding that Neeson was “absolutely amazing to work with.”

The Academy Award-nominated actor said, “It’s been a pleasure bringing the father to life and working with the wonderfully talented people at Bethesda on Fallout 3. I hope the fans of the franchise and the game will be excited by the results.”

While excitement will no doubt accompany the announcement, most observers predict it will not be the sort of excitement Neeson had in mind.
