DokeV Gameplay Trailer Is a Beautiful, Incomprehensible Open-World Adventure Explosion

Black Desert Online developer Pearl Abyss showed up for Gamescom Opening Night Live to show off a gameplay trailer for DokeV, a third-person open-world adventure game brimming with color. In the footage, which is laced with the world’s catchiest song, the varied player characters can be seen traversing a bustling open-world via skateboards, bikes, rollerblades, tiny cars, and a lot more. Every color of the rainbow can be seen on screen at nearly every second, as characters work with and battle against Dokebi, the game’s strange creature inhabitants. The game itself looks sort of like a busier version of Splatoon, except it’s apparently actually a creature-collecting game somehow. Many of its features and mechanics have yet to be articulated.

As put together as DokeV (pronounced “doh-keh-vee”) seems, the game does not have set platforms or a release window yet. This is the kind of thing that you need to see to believe, so check out the work-in-progress DokeV gameplay trailer below.

First unveiled back in 2019, Pearl Abyss says DokeV takes place in its own unique world where Dokebi and humans live together in explosive harmony. Check out a synopsis for the action adventure title:

Meet Dokebi, whimsical creatures that live side-by-side with humans and encourage people’s dreams from which they gain strength. The gorgeous and colorful world of DokeV is brimming with activities, stories, and experiences, so get ready to befriend tons of Dokebi, embark on an adventure, and rock the world! Who knows, they may be dancing around you, even now..!
