PopCap And Sqaure Enix Team Up In Japan

PopCap has announced a partnership with Square Enix to distribute games online in Japan.

Following the release of PopCap games over Valve’s Steam service, Square Enix has announced their Gyao Japanese Portal service will support a number of PopCap games for download in the Japanese market.

“We know that our games are ideally suited for the global consumer audience and this agreement with Square Enix will enable us to reach the Japanese market in a major way,” stated James Gwertzman, Director of Business Development for PopCap Games. “There’s simply no better partner in Japan for PopCap than Square Enix, in terms of industry presence, distribution channels, passion for quality games of all kinds and overall expertise. This is an ideal match for PopCap.”

With over 95 employees in the US and Ireland, PopCap Games is easily the most successful independent casual games developer and publisher in the world.
