World Series of Video Games Starts Second Season

The World Series of Video Games returns with four new games added to its competition library.

The World Series of Video Games (WSVG) has announced plans for its 2007 circuit. The season begins May 1 in China and ends at the finals in Sweden on November 29, with over $750,000 in cash prizes being awarded throughout the World Series’ run. Four new games will be added to the WSVG roster in the upcoming year, including Guitar Hero 2, where judges will rate players based on their skills and performance, three-on-three player vs. player World of Warcraft competitions, Fight Night Round 3 and Quake 4.

Matthew Ringel, President of the World Series of Video Games, said, “We are incredibly excited about our 2007 lineup of game competitions. The World Series seeks to support those titles that are the most fun for the players in competition, enjoy widespread community support, and afford the most opportunities for a much wider audience to view them online and on television.”
