Knothole Island, the long-awaited DLC for Fable 2, is now available, with new goodies for everyone – including Fable 2 owners who don’t want to pay for it.

“Meet Gordon the submariner in the Bowerstone docks, where you’ll be showered with unique gifts to entice you to the mysterious island,” says a post on Major Nelson. “There you will embark on new adventures, fight new creatures and find Albion’s rarest weapons, clothes and potions.” Along with the new quests, locations and characters included in the DLC, more than 50 new leaderboards have been added to the Lionhead website.

The Knothole Island Premium Pack is available via the Xbox Live Marketplace for 800 Microsoft Points, but Lionhead and Microsoft have also made available a free version of the DLC, giving everyone a chance to score some loot. The free version of Knothole Island will also be necessary to facilitate co-operative play between gamers who have purchased the DLC and those who haven’t, although “the complete Knothole Island experience in co-op play” will require that everyone involved have the Premium release installed.

A Fable 2 Title Update is also available that fixes various bugs and issues associated with several of the game’s quests. A full list of changes made in the Title Update is available here.
