Individual digital issues of Pure Nintendo will sell for $3.99 via its iOS app.

In the wake of Nintendo Power‘s demise comes a new source for Nintendo news: Pure Nintendo, a digital magazine available via Apples’ Newsstand at an introductory rate of $9.99 for a yearly subscription. If you don’t want to go the subscriptions route, individual digital magazines will be available for sale via the app.

The Google marketplace version of this iOS app released just last week. “Pure Nintendo‘s launch on the Google Play marketplace was a huge success,” said Justin Sharp, Editor-in-Chief of the magazine, “and we are expanding our digital initiative with the launch of the iOS Newsstand version today.” The introductory iOS episode will feature puzzles and an interview with the Lead Game Designer for Rayman Legends, plus a tribute to the defunct Nintendo Power. Pure Nintendo is a Kickstarted project, unaffiliated with Nintendo, that first took off in 2012; it hopes to be a bi-monthly magazine run by Nintendo fans, for Nintendo fans.

If you just can’t get enough of Samus Aran, and everything else Pure Nintendo has to offer, wander over to the Apple Store. Individual magazine prices vary; if you want to be up to date with the latest news, it’s $3.99, but the previous month will only cost you $2.99. Anything else sets you back $1.99 per magazine. The app is still new, and not all of Pure Nintendo‘s content – it’s already on issue #9 – is there yet, but plans are afoot to get all of its back issues on Apples’ Newsstand within the next few weeks.
