Marvel Studios’ Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D premiere will feature several guest stars, including Agent Carter‘s Peggy Carter.
It took a little while for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D to find its footing, but once it did it didn’t take long to be renewed for a second season. That should make the upcoming premiere an event to look forward too, something that Marvel Studios is taking advantage of with a metric ton of guest stars. Outside of Patton Oswalt’s return as Eric Koenig and Lucy Lawless’ addition to the series, we’re apparently also set to see a crossover with Agent Carter. Yes, Hayley Atwell is making an appearance as Captain America‘s Peggy Carter, although how the character will be portrayed remains to be seen.
Agent Carter‘s prequel story takes place after the events of Captain America: The First Avenger, as Peggy Carter takes part in the earliest S.H.I.E.L.D operations following World War II. The most likely reason she’d be featured in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is for a flashback sequence, possibly introducing a villain that the modern team must face. Although given the nature of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I suppose time-travel itself shouldn’t be ruled out.
But Atwell won’t be alone in the premiere. A rather extensive guest list was included in a press release attached below, covering new characters and returning fan favorites.
“Shadows” – Coulson and his team are now wanted fugitives with limited resources–but that’s not stopping them from keeping the world safe from powerful and unseen threats everywhere. However, with new members they hardly know, will S.H.I.E.L.D. ever be trusted again? Watch “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” on the ABC Television Network.
Guest starring are B.J. Britt as Agent Antoine Triplett, Nick Blood as Agent Lance Hunter, Adrian Pasdar as Brigadier General Glenn Talbot, Henry Simmons as Alphonso “Mack” Mackenzie, Patton Oswalt as Agent Billy Koenig, Lucy Lawless as Isabelle “Izzy” Hartley, Wilmer Calderon as Idaho, Reed Diamond as Daniel Whitehall, Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Brian Patrick Wade as Carl Creel, Matthew Glave as Roger Browning, Simon Kassianides as Sunil Bakshi, George Stephanopoulos as self, Raquel Gardner as Carla Talbot, Ben Turner Nixon as Hydra Officer, Franco Vega as Military Leader, Rich Ceraulo as Soldier #1, and JB Tadena as Private Tilden.
