Aliens Vs Predator Studio Complains About 3 Bad Reviews

The head of Rebellion, Jason Kingsley, said that despite three uncharacteristically bad reviews, Aliens Vs Predator is actually being reviewed well.

Released on February 16th, Aliens Vs Predator is a shooter set in the world of both the movie franchise. Though it has been generally well received by critics, and our own editor in chief Russ Pitts said that he was presently surprised by the game. As with any game studio head, Jason Kingsley at Rebellion wanted his title to garner good reviews. Unfortunately, he said that there were three very bad reviews which are bringing down the average review score of Aliens Vs Predator. He hopes that will not impact the negotiations of developing a sequel, which he admits are currently taking place with the publisher, Sega.

“The reviews have been mostly good,” Kingley said. “We’ve had three totally shit reviews by some Americans, which is a bit odd. Some of them were inexcusably bad. If you discount those poor reviews AvP is averaging high for us.”

Kingsley doesn’t mention which reviews were so bad, but a quick glance confirms that the scores have been all over the place. But that hasn’t impacted the sales yet, as it has so far sold well, especially in Rebellion’s native land.

“We’re delighted to see the game shoot to the top of the UK charts. We wanted Aliens Versus Predator to be a critical success as well as a commercial success, which we think we have achieved,” Kingsley said.

“We’re also in discussions with Sega about ongoing support for AvP, and also about a sequel to the game,” he continued. “I won’t say what stage those negotiations are in, but we would love to revisit the franchise. Fox are excited about what we’re doing, and we feel we’ve added value to the franchise.”

Look for our review later in the week.
