Baldur’s Gate 3 Players Are Collecting The Best Memes – And They’re Great

Baldur’s Gate 3 hasn’t just made its mark upon the gaming world, it’s also spawned a myriad of memes. Over on the Larian Studios forums, fans have been sharing their brilliant (and bizarre) comedic takes on the game.

Between the overwhelmingly positive reviews, the half-a-million concurrent BG3 Steam players, and the cast embracing their fame, it’s been going pretty well for Baldur’s Gate 3. But as the saying goes, “One can only truly judge a game by its memes.” Fortunately, players have been churning them out by the bucketload. They’ve been posting them in this thread, skewering pretty much every character and situation in the game. And they’re excellent.

The stock male human avatar, or Tav, comes in for a lot of flak in particular. Think Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s Cal Kestis was bland? Just wait until you see this guy.

Tav-mockery aside, there are so many amazing images to choose from, many of them downright side-splitting. We’d heartily recommend you pore through the whole thread, but to give you a taste of what to expect, we’ve picked five of our favourites.

1. Don’t worry, we’re sure Volo knows what he’s doing.

2. Some crimes can never be forgiven.

3. J. Jonah Thormson

4. Shadowheart, Dark Cleric of Cuddles.

5. Distracted Bardfriend

That last one hits home. Alfira is just the best and we’re glad there’s no path in the game where she meets a horrible, horrible demise. You can browse the full thread of Baldur’s Gate 3 memes, currently fifteen pages long, here.

Now, if you’ll excuse us, we need to find a transparent PNG of Gale. No reason.
