Brink and Hunted: The Demon’s Forge, the other half of Bethesda’s 2011 lineup, finally have release dates.
2011 is shaping up to be a big year for Bethesda. Skyrim, the next chapter in The Elder Scrolls series, is coming on November 11 (yes, that’s 11/11/11) while Rage, the next big thing from id Software, will turn up in North America on September 13 and hit European shores on September 16. And now the other two pieces of the puzzle have fallen into place, as Brink has been announced for May 17 in North America and May 20 in Europe and Hunted: The Demon’s Forge is slated for June 1 and June 3.
It’s not unreasonable to say that Brink and Hunted are the supporting characters in a cast dominated by a new id shooter and a new Elder Scrolls RPG, but both games look pretty sexy in their own right. Brink is a fast-paced, multiplayer-focused shooter centered around the struggle for a Utopian city on the verge of collapse, while Hunted is a “fantasy action game” blending dungeon-crawl adventure with shooter intensity and which to my untrained eye evokes a very strong Dark Messiah of Might and Magic vibe.
“We are particularly excited to present such a diverse lineup of high quality titles,” said Bethesda Softworks President Vlatko Andonov. “2011 will be a great year for gamers.”
All four games are being released for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. To learn more about Bethsoft’s big year, check out brinkthegame.com, huntedthegame.com, rage.com and of course, elderscrolls.com.
