This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

Brobocop, the Brominator, Indiana Brones, Rambro, Bro Dredd, Bromando, Macbrover and more fan favorites join forces in Broforce.

Are your games not “bro” enough? Do you yearn for more gratuitous explosions and fist-bumps in your sidescrollers? Then Broforce may be the game for you. Broforce is a love letter to 80’s and 90’s action heroes, the kind of men that worked out, carried a big gun, and would go through hell and back for their bros. The four-player multiplayer sidescroller is reminiscent of the old Contra games, with just a hint of Soldat, and you can check out the Brototype right here in your web browser.

“A ridiculously violent platform game about being awesome action heroes from the 80s and 90s while slaying satanic terrorists and aliens while unraveling an evil plot to destroy the planet while dealing with being awesome action heroes from the 80s and 90s.”

The game features Brobocop, the Brominator, Indiana Brones, Rambro, Bro Dredd, Bromando, Macbrover, Snake Broskin, BA Broracus, Bro Hard and many more “bro-ified” fan favorites. Developer Free Lives promises that the final game will include “A story filled with revenge and bromance that spans the continents and outer space, Local bro-op play and online multiplayer bro-op, and a huge cast of action heroes, each with distinctive attacks and special brobilities.”

Furthermore, For every terrorist killed in Broforce, a terrorist will die in real life.

Free Lives is a small South African independent developer, who is ambitiously aiming to release the game in 2013. The developer encourages you to “brote” for it on Steam Greenlight. If you’re a sucker for 80’s throwbacks, and Blood Dragon has left you craving more over-the-top “brotastic” action, then you should definitely check this one out.
