A screen problem widely reported by Resident Evil 6 demo players is being sorted.
Dragon’s Dogma players got their mitts on the Resident Evil 6 demo before anyone else and have been playing it to death, only to discover that an ever-present screen tear issue mars the experience. Capcom community manager Brett Elston, speaking at San Diego Comic Con, acknowledged the issue and said it was being dealt with. He was there to show off new gameplay for the horror franchise, as two important characters got to bask in the limelight.
“The most annoying aspect of this,” said a Digital Foundry analysis of the issue, “is that the tear-line has a habit of consistently manifesting right in the middle of the screen, exactly where the player is going to notice it most.” The screen tear is created by frame buffer problems, which result in an on-screen blemish. Elston was unable to promise a fix date for the issue, saying only that it was “being looked into.”
New gameplay was released as part of Elston’s presentation, and that gameplay did not show the screen tear issue. The demo play showed off Jake Muller and Chris Redfield’s campaigns.
