Cliffy B Makes Gamers Humiliate Themselves for Gears 3 Keys

How far would you go for a Gears of War 3 beta key? Probably not as far as these guys.

While sometimes overshadowed by series like Halo and Call of Duty, Epic Games’ Gears of War is one of the biggest franchises on the Xbox 360. It’s no wonder that gamers all around the world are going nuts to get into the highly anticipated Gears of War 3 beta.

Some of them, apparently, are going a bit too nuts. Epic frontman Cliff “Cliffy B” Bleszinski has been having a bit of fun with gamers on his Twitter feed, offering beta keys to gamers who send him pictures of themselves in increasingly-ridiculous situations.

Save-and-Quit Gaming has a roundup of some of the silliest requests. For instance:

“First person to post a picture of the omen on their car windshield in peanut butter while kneeling on the roof of the car w a Gears CD wins!” Yep, someone did that.

“Next. Guy on all fours with a Gears box in his teeth while girlfriend rides him and is smacking his butt with a spatula.” Someone did that, too.

“First person who shows me a picture with their cat ON their head while holding a Gears disc in your teeth gets a #Gears3Beta code. GO!” You get the picture.

You really can’t even blame Cliff for this, since people are clearly willing to play along. The Gears 3 beta is horrendously popular and he has a ton of beta keys to give out.

A random give-away or “tenth person to retweet this” might do the trick, but it wouldn’t be nearly as entertaining.
