Control Ultimate Edition Launches on Steam This Month, September on Consoles and EGS

Remedy has announced Control Ultimate Edition will launch on Aug. 27 on Steam, and it will come digitally to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Epic Games Store on Sept. 10. This new Control Ultimate Edition rendition contains the main game, expansions The Foundation and AWE, and all other game updates like The Expeditions and Photo Mode.

Physical versions of Control Ultimate Edition will release at the end of 2020 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and early 2021 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The digital release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will occur at the end of 2020.

Those who purchase Control Ultimate Edition on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will receive the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X version for free. However, the original version of Control released for consoles back in 2019 is not eligible for the free next-generation upgrade; only the Ultimate Edition is.

Last week, Remedy announced that the AWE expansion for Control would release on Aug. 27. The release date was notable because it marks the end of Control‘s one-year exclusivity deal on PC via the Epic Games Store.

The first DLC expansion for the game, Control: The Foundation, was released back on March 26 for PlayStation 4 and PC via Epic Games Store and June 25 for Xbox One.
