To the toe-curled delight of housewife gamers across the country, Codemasters Online has announced that Dirty Dancing: The Video Game is now available for download.

Released to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the smash hit movie starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, the casual action-puzzle game puts players in the role of Baby, learning to dance with Johnny and Penny while working at the renowned Kellerman’s Mountain House Resort. The release of the game caps a year-long celebration by Lionsgate in honor of the event, which also included the release of a special 20th anniversary edition of the movie on DVD and Blu-ray and a remastered companion CD from Sony/BMG. The movie also saw limited re-release in sold-out theaters across the U.S. During its original theatrical release in 1987, Dirty Dancing generated over $170 million worldwide and has sold more than 10 million DVDs since.

Dirty Dancing is a premium casual game which fans of both the movie and high-quality casual games will be able to enjoy for hours,” said Codemasters Online Associate Product Manager Tim Hodges. “We are proud to be a part of such an imperative franchise and we are delighted to bring a quality casual game to the many dedicated Dirty Dancing fans.”

Dirty Dancing: The Video Game is currently available in the U.S. via download from www.dirtydancinggame.com.
