A “Nite to Unite for Kids” charity event hosted by the Entertainment Software Association has netted $900,000 in proceeds, the organization announced.

An upcoming game pack for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console is expected to net the charity a further estimated $2 million.

To be released for the holiday season, the game pack consists of the following games: Open Season, Fusion Frenzy 2 and Disney/Pixar’s Cars.

ESA CEO Michael Gallagher thanked Microsoft for the game pack, the proceeds of which will go to the ESA Foundation.

“Our sincere thanks and appreciation to the game pack’s lead publisher, Microsoft. Their willingness to spearhead this effort is a model for our entire industry,” he said. “The money raised will help advance the health, safety and welfare of America’s youth.”

Game publishers and entertainment giants Disney, Ubisoft, THQ, Sony Pictures and Pixar also made financial contributions. The charity event has been running for six years and raised almost $8 million in total.
