Physical Editions of Ori and the Blind Forest and Will of the Wisps Coming to Switch in December

Today, we received word that Ori and the Blind Forest and sequel Ori and the Will of the Wisps will be coming to Nintendo Switch in physical format on Dec. 8. The retail release of both games is the result of a collaboration between developer Moon Studios and distributor iam8bit. Each game will cost $39.99 and will come with art cards and a digital version of the soundtrack from the games, and you can preorder them from various retailers starting now. Collector’s editions for Switch, Xbox One, and PC will also be available on Dec. 8, costing $149.99.

Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath Owners Get New in-Game Halloween Skins

In celebration of Halloween, Mortal Kombat 11 has added three new costumes for some of the game’s most popular characters — at no additional charge for those who own the Aftermath expansion. These include Sub-Zero’s Blizzard King, D’Vorah’s Bad Medicine, and Johnny Cage’s Beast Within skins. The expansion is $39.99 (but is on sale through the PS Store for $31.99 right now) and comes with new story content, fighters, and additional skins. October 2020’s PS Plus Games Include Need for Speed: Payback and Vampyr

Today, Sony revealed October 2020’s PS Plus games, and it’s a solid list of heavy hitters. Starting on Tuesday, Oct. 6, PS Plus subscribers will gain access to 2017 racing game Need for Speed: Payback and 2018 action RPG Vampyr. Both will be available to download through Monday, Nov. 2. Do make sure you add this month’s PS Plus games, Street Fighter V and PUBG, to your library, as they’ll be gone for PS Plus users by the time October’s PS Plus games go live next week.

Nintendo Doubles Back and Decides to Keep Jump Rope Challenge on eShop

In an interesting turn of events, Nintendo has doubled back on removing the free-to-play Jump Rope Challenge from the eShop. Recently, the games giant took to Twitter to confirm that the small fitness game will not be removed and will be available until “further notice,” despite initially advertising it as a limited-time game. Nintendo also announced that, in total, over 2.5 billion jumps have been recorded across all players who downloaded the game. It’s free, so give it a try now!

PS Store’s Games of a Generation Sale Has Tremendous Discounts on the PS4’s Best Titles

It seems like every other week that the PS Store has a massive sale on digital games, and this week features a sale you won’t want to miss. Titled the Games of a Generation Sale, this list of games probably has at least one you were holding out for, including Ghost of Tsushima, Red Dead Redemption 2, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Metal Gear Solid V, and Dragon Ball FighterZ, among a slew of others. The sale is good through Oct. 15.
