Digital distribution company GameTap has announced that it will soon reach the 1000 game milestone on its service.
Launched in 2005, GameTap offers numerous conventional PC game releases for purchase via digital download, as well as ad-supported free games and original video content. The majority of the content is reserved for subscribers, who pay a flat monthly fee for the service.
“GameTap is focused on providing our subscribers with new original games, as well as great partner titles like Clive Barker’s Jericho, that will premiere on GameTap the same day it hits retail stores,” said GameTap’s Vice President of Content Ricardo Sanchez. “We are also excited to announce that on November 15th we will be setting an industry benchmark of 1000 videogames on-demand, reinforcing our reputation as the leader in the space.”
GameTap will be offering the horror-FPS Clive Barker’s Jericho on October 23, followed by the premiere of Sam & Max Season Two and the “season finale” of Myst Online: Uru Live.
