Hitman: Absolution Shows Off the “Tools of the Trade”

This article is over 12 years old and may contain outdated information

Agent 47 says, “There’s more than one way to murder a dude.”

Every professional assassin will tell you that the best weapon is the one you can reach. And it appears that in the upcoming Hitman: Absolution, there will be plenty within your grasp: bottles, wrenches, screwdrivers, bricks, crowbars, golf clubs, Buicks and all sorts of other goodies that, in the right hands, can very quickly and effectively ruin someone’s day.

If preparation (or mass murder) is more your bag, a veritable cornucopia of more conventional weapons will also be on the table. You can go in like a grapefruit and out like a beach ball with assault shotguns, master the art of distance with high-powered sniper rifles, put up walls of lead with submachine guns or opt for the quiet precision of a single, silenced pistol. And if all else fails, just blow things up.

One YouTube commenter noted that “A real Hitman makes everything look like an accident,” and that may be true – but I think that maniacs have more fun. Hitman: Absolution comes out on November 20 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
