Learn How to Make a Replica Pulse Rifle From ‘Aliens’ For Under $30

This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

The M41A Pulse Rifle from Aliens is one of the most legendary weapons in sci fi history, and thanks to this how-to video, now you can build your own.

With Neil Blomkamp’s Alien 5 already garnering a lot of hype despite still being in the production phases, it’s apparent that the extraterrestrial brainchild of Ridley Scott is as popular as ever. And with Wizard World Comic Con Chicago set to kick off in a couple days, why *wouldn’t* we want to know how to build a replica version of the iconic equalizer used by Ellen Ripley in Aliens? Cosplayers are nothing if not detail-oriented, after all.

Thankfully, Dustin McLean of DIY Prop Shop is here to show us how to do just that. Of course, I suppose you could just 3D print a pulse rifle with actual, deadly capabilities in today’s age of technological wizardry, but for less than $30? GAME OVER MAN…I mean, not gonna happen.
