LittleBigPlanet Does Classic DuckTales Theme

This article is over 15 years old and may contain outdated information

The NES, DuckTales and LittleBigPlanet — a bizarre combination that works flawlessly together in one amazing video.

Clocking in at a little over a minute, the video demonstrates the wildly robust LittleBigPlanet level editor reenacting the “Moon” theme from 1989’s DuckTales. It would have been impressive enough had Youtube user “JokinJoe” merely coaxed the PlayStation 3 title into playing something similar to Capcom’s tune, but the resulting song is not just spot on, it’s actually better than the original.

Sure, it doesn’t quite have the novelty of the Contra or R-Type remakes done in the same engine, but given that LBP is supposed to be a platformer, this stage certainly wins points for originality.

And, of course, for scratching that ever-present nostalgia itch that keeps us twentysomethings up at night wondering why the world is much less rad than it used to be.
