Microsoft Changes Achievement Point Rules

Microsoft changes rules for publishers to include achievement points in games.

Microsoft revealed on its Gamerscore blog that it has modified the rules for publisher issuing achievement points.

The maximum total achievement points a single game can award has been raised to 1250. Xbox LIVE Arcade titles can now award 250 points, a 50-point boost from the previous cap. Titles can be released with less than 1,000 possible achievement points but will be forced to reach the limit through downloadable content. Crackdown will be the first game to be released with the intention of using downloadable content to offer 100 points in addition to the retail game’s 900 achievement points.
