Gamerscore has announced four new tournament modes for Project Gotham Racing 4, letting players go head-to-head in hot rubbin’-and-racin’ multiplayer action.

The new tournament modes will be available via free download from the Xbox Live Marketplace. Players will be able to qualify for spots in Daily Tournaments, Super Saturdays, Simulation Sundays and the ultimate Project Gotham Racing crown, the Global Cup. Qualifying time limits will be displayed on each tournament leaderboard, indicating how much time remains for drivers to race their best Solo Hot Lap. Top times will earn a spot in the tournament elimination rounds, where players will trade paint and burn rubber in a drive to the winner’s circle.

Regular Daily Tournaments will take place Monday through Friday, with a total of 640 players in five groups of 128 each qualifying for the tournament; Super Saturday, which will also take place over a single day, will feature 2560 drivers in five groups of 512 qualifying; and Simulation Sunday will allow only 64 qualifications, with players required to use the In-Car View and Manual Gears.

The Global Cup is a bigger effort, running twice per month and taking two weeks to complete. The Global Cup will take a maximum of 512 qualifiers: The top 20 finishers for each Nation, and the top 32 finishers from the “Rest of the World.” Elimination rounds in the Global Cup will take place the second Saturday of each tournament.

Global Cup winners will have their gamertags displayed on the PGRNations home page, while regular tournament winners will be featured on the tournament leaderboards.

The four new tournament modes will be released to the public on November 15. More information is available at the Gamerscore blog and the Xbox Live Project Gotham Race 4 game detail page.
