How to Get Light Leather in Hytale

To get Light Leather in Hytale, you will need to craft the Tanning Rack bench. To do so, go to the Workbench, and check the different workstation tab and find it. Then, to make it, you need:

  • 6 of any tree trunk
  • 3x of any stone
  • 3x Light Hide

Now, to get Light Hide, you need to go hunting. Look for small to medium-sized creatures around the early game biome. Creatures like Cows, Rabbit, Does and Deer can drop Light Hide per kill.

Once the Tanning Rack is built, you then need to get even more Light Hide by hunting the above. When you get a hide, you can then place it in the Tanning Rack. It takes about 30 seconds to convert one Light Hide into one Light Leather in the rack.

  • 3x for the Iron Hammer and Shovel
  • Between 4-7x Light Leather for Iron Armor pieces
  • 3x Light Leather for the Iron Shield
  • Between 2-4x Light Leather for various Iron Weapons from the Blacksmith’s Anvil: 2x for Iron Daggers and an Iron Shortbow, 3x for the Iron Sword, 4x for the Crossbow, Iron Mace and Battleaxe

As you can see, it is quite a needed item in the early game for a lot of powerful crafts. Expect to be committing severe biodiversity damage for your shiny items. Alternatively, you can try and gather up animals in the wild by using feedbags to befriend animals. Thoughtaming animals is not in the game yet, as it’s a feature that’s still awork in progress at the time of early access launch.
