Russian Doll Season 2 Release Date & Announcement Trailer Revealed

A series about a time loop may appear to be pretty finalized once the characters get out of said time loop, but Netflix isn’t going to let that stop it from delivering a season 2 of the popular Russian Doll, which just received its announcement trailer and release date. This second season is continuing the existential exploration, but not through a time loop. Instead, it’s through a time portal as both Nadia (Natasha Lyonne) and Alan (Charlie Barnett) begin jumping through time.

The show will pick up four years after the first season ended. Nadia and Alan are still hanging out, and this time they discover a time portal located in a notorious Manhattan location. Undaunted by their previous troubles with playing with time, the pair decide to go on grand adventures through time, jumping between eras and checking out the past of New York City. Of course, things don’t go as planned. The dark humor and drama of the first season start playing in as the pair begin unpacking more of the past and search for a way out of their time-traveling fun.

Natasha Lyonne, who basically is everything on the show, returns again as everything: co-creator, executive producer, director, writer, and showrunner. The series is also executive produced by Alex Buono, Amy Poehler, Leslye Headland, Lilly Burns, Tony Hernandez, Dave Becky, Kate Arend, Regina Corrado, and Allison Silverman. The second season will run for seven episodes of 30 minutes each.

Russian Doll season 2 drops on Netflix with an April 20, 2022 release date.
