Star Wars 1313 Creative Director Joins Sony

Star Wars 1313

Dominic Robilliard, the creative director on the canceled Star Wars 1313 project, is now working at Sony Computer Entertainment America.

Disney’s closure of LucasArts in April 2013 was sad enough in its own right, but the particularly lamentable aspect for an awful lot of gamers was the loss of Star Wars 1313 that resulted. A daring and more mature take on the franchise, it promised something more than the kid-friendly Star Wars shovelware we’d grown used to – perhaps, we dared to dream, something on the level of Knights of the Old Republic, or at the very least Dark Forces.

Anyway, the dream is dead (mostly) but those who tried to bring it to life live on, and one key member in particular – Robilliard – has now moved on to the greener pastures of Sony Computer Entertainment America. What he’s doing there or which studio he’ll be affiliated with isn’t known, but it’s not his first kick at the Sony can: Prior to joining LucasArts he was a member of the now-defunct Sony Computer Entertainment Europe studio Team Soho, where he worked on The Getaway series.

We’ve reached out to Sony to find out more about Robbiliard’s role at the company and will update if and when we hear back.
