During the Xbox Games Showcase, Undead Labs confirmed that State of Decay 3 is in development.

A new reveal trailer was dropped, showcasing a young woman at a campfire in the middle of the night sharpening her knife. She screams at a shadowy figure lurking towards her in order to scare it off.
The next morning, she journeys across a snow-filled forest, armed with a crossbow. She comes across a wolf that’s on the verge of death, with its insides showing. In a cruel twist of fate, it’s revealed that a zombified deer is actually feeding off of it. It then spots the young woman and roars at her, indicating that it’s about to attack.
State of Decay 3 is coming to Xbox Series X and PC. No release window has been announced.
