Super Mario 3D All-Stars, Mario 35th Anniversary, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario 64

Super Mario 3D All-Stars Launches This Month, Only Available Until March 2021

Yes, the long-rumored Super Mario 3D All-Stars remaster collection is real, but there’s a catch. Announced today during a surprise Super Mario Bros. 35th Anniversary Direct, digital and physical versions of the collection, featuring Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy, will be made available Sept. 18, 2020. However, the current plan is you’ll only be able to purchase the $59.99 bundle until the end of March 2021. You can see what each of the three classics look like on Switch in the announcement trailer below.

You’ll be able to play these Nintendo Switch-optimized versions of Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy later this month. Additionally, purchasing Super Mario 3D All-Stars grants you access to a music player that includes tracks from each of the games. Keep in mind that you’ll only have around six months to purchase the bundle.

Nintendo’s bundle is part of an effort to properly celebrate the plumbing video game icon’s 35th anniversary. Though Super Mario 3D All-Stars lacks titles, such as Super Mario Galaxy 2, for example, the collection should come as a welcome sight, considering reports of the remaster bundle’s existence started showing up as long ago as March.
