Super Mario Bros movie teaser trailer premiere date October 6, 2022 4 pm ET NYCC New York Comic Con

Super Mario Movie Trailer Premiere Date Has Been Set

New York Comic Con has announced that it will be the venue where Nintendo and Illumination premiere the teaser trailer for the Super Mario movie, and the date it will arrive is October 6, 2022 at 4 p.m. ET or thereabouts. It’s possible that 4 p.m. will merely be when an associated NYCC panel begins, so it could be another hour or so afterward that the trailer actually premieres and is available online. In any case, this is an intensely anticipated event, ahead of the film’s US release date of April 7, 2023.

The movie appears to just be called Super Mario Bros., but this seemingly isn’t confirmed yet. Story leaks have been floating around for the movie for months though, and they sound fairly promising. Regardless, the movie contains a star-studded cast, with Chris Pratt as Mario and Charlie Day as Luigi. What exactly Pratt will sound like as Mario has itself been the subject of weirdly intense speculation, and Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri has assured he will sound great despite Pratt not being Italian American. The movie was originally set to arrive this December, but series creator Shigeru Miyamoto himself announced a delay to April 2023 in a somewhat weird tweet earlier this year.

With the Super Mario movie teaser trailer premiere date set by New York Comic Con, all will be revealed soon. What are you hoping to see?
