The Outlast Trials Trailer Teases Tense Halloween Weekend with October Beta Test Date

Cold War-era follow-up The Outlast Trials reappeared during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2022, with Red Barrels showing off an extended look at the project ahead of its newly announced beta test. The closed beta test will make for a terrifying Halloween weekend, with gameplay open for those who sign up starting October 28 and running through to November 1. The Outlast Trials showed up for more, however, with a new trailer delivering around two minutes of torture (in a good way). Information on how to sign up for the closed beta has yet to be revealed, so until then, you can see Red Barrels’ latest look at the next entry in its twisted horror universe in the footage below.

“Last year, we debuted the first gameplay trailer for The Outlast Trials at Opening Night Live, and were overwhelmed by the positive reception,” Red Barrels co-founder and designer David Chateauneuf said in a press release. “So it’s fantastic to be back again this year, and be able to provide a date for when test subjects… sorry, I mean fans, can enter the Closed Beta trials.”

The Outlast Trials will be in the hands of players thanks to the beta test in just a few short months, but we’re still, unfortunately, waiting on a final release window. Stay tuned for updates as we wait for Red Barrels to share more.
