Three Nintendo WiiWare and Virtual Console Offerings This Week

Nintendo’s lineup of downloadable content this week includes two games for its new WiiWare service and one for the Virtual Console.

Konami’s Critter Round-Up, a one to four player experience, is a puzzle-action challenge title. The player has to corral critters across 50 levels of gameplay. If you get tired of herding animals, you can try out a number of minigames like Snowball Soccer and Predator Rampage. The game costs 1,000 Wii Points.

Also available is Hudson Entertainment’s Star Soldier R, a one-player fantasy violence title. Gamers vie for top scores within given time limits in order to square off against more powerful enemies. Ships can be upgraded and best scores uploaded online for comparison. The title costs 800 Wii Points.

Sky Kid is this week’s Virtual Console contribution. The side-scrolling shooter pits the player against enemy planes, ships and other targets. Two people can play concurrently to both take out computer-controlled opponents and compete against one another. It costs 500 Wii Points.
