Tom Clancy’s The Division Confirmed For PC

Ubisoft’s Communications Manager cites immense fan feedback as the reason for The Division‘s PC port.

One of the more interesting games revealed at this year’s E3 was Tom Clancy’s The Division. While initially only announced for PS4 and Xbox One, Ubisoft’s Communications Manager Gary Steinman has now confirmed that it will also be available on PC. He cites overwhelming fan feedback as the main reason behind The Division‘s PC port.

The Divison is an interesting, almost MMO-like multiplayer game about a replicating virus wiping out humanity. When it was announced, it seemed a perfect fit for the PC, the platform which has long since dominated the MMO genre, but surprisingly, only the PS4 and Xbox One were confirmed as platforms. Thousands of PC gamers took to Twitter, Facebook and the Ubisoft forums begging for a PC version, and now Ubisoft has delivered.

“Since E3 we have been carefully listening to what has been said on the internet,” said Executive Producer Fredrik Rundqvist. “I can’t stress enough how important it has been for us to feel your support, interest and commitment to the game. Your opinions matter to us. The positive energy you bring back to the team will help us create the best game possible.” Fredrik assures us that “we will provide you with a first-rate PC experience.”

The Division is being developed by Massive Entertainment, which has its roots in PC development with titles like Ground Control and World in Conflict. You can check out the full video announcement in the video above.

This is good news all around, I think. Now if only we could get Rockstar to do the same with that GTA V PC port…
