The biggest games this year will have DLC on the Xbox first.

Several games previewed at Microsoft’s E3 press conference this morning will have exclusive timed DLC for the Xbox 360.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Tomb Raider and Resident Evil 6 will have timed-release DLC, meaning for those wanting to get a jump on any extra content available for the titles will need to purchase an Xbox 360 or wait a few weeks.

Timed DLC exclusives aren’t exactly anything new, with big titles like Skyrim and Battlefield 3 having released platform-specific content weeks ahead of other platforms. However, the rise in timed DLC could signify a new front in Sony and Microsoft’s fight over exclusive game releases and content.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be available on November 13, 2012, Tomb Raider the 5th of March, 2013, and Resident Evil 6 on the 2nd of October 2012. All three titles will be available for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

UPDATE: THQ has confirmed that the first three DLC packs for the upcoming comedy-RPG South Park: The Stick of Truth will release for the Xbox 360 before any other platform. The game, being developed by Obsidian Entertainment, is scheduled to launch on March 5th, 2013.
